Teri Brown-Jackson

Teri Brown-Jackson is a native Detroiter, who started out as a journalist working at KFWB, where she won a prestigious Golden Mike Award. She switch from writing facts to fiction after completing the Warner Brothers Workshop, landing her first writing job on NBC’s, “In The House.”

Since then Teri worked as a Script Coordinator on UPN’s, “The Parkers” where she wrote two freelance episodes. She also worked on the Disney’s “That’s So Raven”, “The Hank Azaria Pilot” and she also wrote 10 episodes of Tyler Perry’s “House of Payne”.

Teri is also a screenwriting instructor for Kids In The Spotlight, a non-profit organization that gives hands on training to youths in the foster care system. Recently, her short film, “Dark Chocolate,” won best dramatic short at the Independent Film Showcase, and Teri will be teaching Beginning Writing for The Half-Hour Spec, Spring 2020 at UCLA Extension.

Teri earned her B.A. in Telecommunications from Michigan State University and has completed courses at the USC’s Guy Hanks & Marvin Miller Screenwriting Program, screenwriting classes at UCLA Extension, and the Producers Guild Diversity Workshop.
