Krystal Dawkins

Krystal was born on the island of Jamaica. She grew in Portmore, St. Catherine. She attended a small preparatory school called Our Lady of the Angels, where she fell in love with English literature and writing, and then onto Immaculate Conception High, arguably the island’s
premiere secondary institution, where she fell in love with History. She then attended The University of the West Indies (UWI), where she majored in Media and Communication.
Krystal migrated to the United States shortly after she finished her studies at UWI in 2011. She has since completed internships at the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission, as well as the Community Media Center of Marin in Northern California.
Krystal completed her Masters in Film Production at San Diego State University in May 2018.
She has written, produced and directed four short films. Her thesis film Learning to Swim (2018) – shot on location in Jamaica – won Best Student Film at the San Diego International Film Festival.
She currently works as a Video Coordinator/ Scriptwriter at a company in Carlsbad, California. Her favorite TV shows are Dexter, Tyrant and Black Sails. She loves the beach, and is constantly writing scripts.
