Karika Austin

Karika Austin has been a proud member of OBS for many years. She is no stranger to raw imagination and whose versatile writing talents run the gamut from creative, technical, and writing of commercial copy. She served as staff writer for Electronic News Magazine (EM News) for ASD Digital Media and wrote, procured, and awarded government and state grants, charter school petitions and successful writing of manuscripts (books both fiction/non-fiction, children, and poetry). Her ventures into spec writing began with Girlfriends, Will & Grace Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, to the most recent Black-ish. Karika has experience writing varies forms of screenwriting genres and is actively working on honing her writing skills and becoming well versed in the docuseries writing process. She is actively working on completing a few docuseries projects, a crime-drama series, a reality TV series, and a nail-biting thriller film.
Karika enjoys the creative process of screenwriting and toting the line of reality and imagination to create a unique script. She looks to empower other writers and offer help when needed while actively working on her writing and welcoming constructive feedback from the community of writers.
