David Byrd

A Springfield, Massachusetts native and Howard University Alum, I currently split my time between Los Angeles, California and the Algarve region of Portugal. I’ve been an entrepreneur, crisis communications professional, political operative, and an OBS member long enough to be a little embarrassed by it. My career highlights include being the strategic lead or a campaign manager on several historic political campaigns as well as being one of only a handful of African-Americans to lead a statewide media campaign. After writing and directing dozens of radio and television commercials with seven-figure budgets, I joined Film-Noir Productions once lead by the late Anita Addison (the first woman of color with greenlight authority at a major network) where I worked as a reader before being promoted to development. I was the showrunner and executive of producer of 22 episodes of a weekly news show on the Black News Channel before the network filed for Bankruptcy and was subsequently sold in 2022.
