Jamila Jackson is a screenwriter from Fort Wayne, Indiana who is making a name for herself in comedy and is a contributing writer for This Week This Week sketch show. She is an alumnus of Alabama A&M University, Purdue University-Fort Wayne, and The Second City Film School-Chicago where she was the recipient of the NBC + HRFS Emerging Voices Scholarship 2020-2021. Jamila placed on the December 2021 Coverfly Red List top rated comedy short screenplays and is the winner of the February 2022 Scriptwriter Showdown and multiple film festivals, including Best Short Screenplay 2022 Broad Humor Film Festival and 2022 PopCon International Film Festival. Jamila is inspired by the experiences of her childhood and creates strong female protagonists. As a single parent she is raising her teen daughter with love, humor, and divinely anointed patience.
