Call For Short Film Submissions
The Organization of Black Screenwriters - OBS is on the move with its new “Night at the Movies - Short Film Showcase”. We are showcasing short films created by OBS members and local writer/filmmakers - writer/directors – writer/producers. Our “Night at the Movies” shines a spotlight on the Filmmaker/Writer giving them a forum to not only showcase their film, but to discuss their motivation and the making of the film in a Q&A session; therefore the filmmaker/writer must be present.
Since we begin we have showcased films from writer/filmmakers such as: Rae Shaw, Zelie Dember-Slack, Shawnee & Shawnelle Gibbs, Harold Sylvester, Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, Eric Haywood, Angela Gibbs, Yvonne Farrow, and many others.
For consideration for our “Night at the Movies” the OBS Outreach Committee is accepting entries for review.
Please submit films via U.S. mail with the following information: Copy of DVD (Film) Contact information: telephone, email, address, website Title of Film Length of Film Name of Writer Name of Director Name of Producer Bio of Writer Copy of Movie Poster

We have two (2) more showcases scheduled for 2008 – Thursday, September 25th 7 – 10 PM Thursday, November 20th 7 – 10 PM
Deadline for September showcase is September 15th & for November showcase is November 10th. Remember the Writer/Filmmaker must be able to attend the “Night at the Movies” for film to be screened.
