There are three ways to apply for membership: in person, by mail, or online

(Please note: Regardless of the method of application, it can take from 1 to 4 weeks for you to receive your Membership Card and/or access to the members-only section of this site. Both your payment and your application will be processed first. Then you will receive a "Welcome to OBS" email, then afterwards you'll receive member site login credentials and a Membership Card)

To apply in person:

Complete a membership application and submit it along with your payment (see application for fees) at next OBS General Meeting (see Calendar).

MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP	$ 165.00
Includes writers who have been accepted into a writing fellowship, have industry experience (with credits) on a TV show or film or have had a project optioned and sold. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services, attend all meetings, and vote in the annual election. Must submit completed script through script development in six (6) months of joining at Level I (this is an additional cost).


GENERAL MEMBERSHIP	$ 140.00
For emerging writers who prefer to attend meetings and seminars with no proactive participation. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services, attend all meetings, and vote in the annual election. Must submit completed script through script development in six (6) months of joining at Level I (this is an additional cost).


AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP	$ 125.00
Out-of-state members. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services. Must submit completed script through script development in six (6) months of joining at Level I (this is an additional cost).


STUDENT MEMBERSHIP (College)	$ 65.00
Undergraduate students. Copy of current student ID required with application. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services, attend all meetings, and vote in the annual election.


STUDENT MEMBERSHIP (High School)	$ 25.00
Must be 11th or 12th grade high school student with signed letter of permission from parent with contact information.


SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP (Non-Writer)	$ 75.00
Undergraduate students. Copy of current student ID required with application. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services, attend all meetings, and vote in the annual election.


INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP	$ 125.00
For writers who live outside the continental U.S. You are entitled to participate in and utilize all OBS programs and services via e-mail. Must submit completed script through script development in six (6) months of joining at Level I (this is an additional cost).
